💭We're Abuzz with Creative Change

Hello Genius,

Remember last week, when I told you about the emergence of my butterfly? I gave her a name and appointed her as mascot and logo for Every Day Genius. You may have noticed those changes in the branding colors and imagery if you've been with me over the last few months.

My butterfly's name is Elana, and I gave her that name in a nod to élan vital, defined as the creative force within an organism that is responsible for growth, change, and necessary or desirable adaptations. That sounds like Genius to me, especially in light of the etymological root of genius meaning, a guiding spirit.

What I never expected was for the butterfly to become more and more significant to Every Day Genius, not just in a beautiful image, but in a deepening framework. It's like I was on to something, and I hadn't even grasped what it was all leading to.

I created the EDG Map, (EDG Butterfly Map) in the shape of a butterfly, following an intuitive sketch I made. The map is designed to help you see where your Genius might be stifled and show you how to regain flight. The butterfly shape is the map. But not only that, I found out after I created the map, that the butterfly's flight forms an infinity loop as the wings rise and fall in succession. That's significant.

And, it gets better, and more profound. But instead of explaining it here, I want to invite you to listen to a few podcast episodes that re-introduce Every Day Genius in a much more focused manner. (See the Shape of Flight link below)

I finally found a groove, after many iterations - exemplary of a healthy creative process, by the way. And I want to bring you up to the speed of flight. The flight of the butterfly. The flight of your Genius!

P.S. Can I be real about something?

You're probably feeling it too. The whole internet thing, specifically the "social" media. It's a great tool, but every time we turn around, our opportunities to connect meaningfully are hijacked by algorithms. It is no longer what we signed up for in many respects.

I want to invite you into a community without the ads, without a feed full of 70% of things you never opted to "friend" or "follow." It's a dedicated space so the content is more meaningful and easier to navigate.
