Every Day Genius: The Podcast
The Format HAS CHANGED!
See italics for new changes, effective Mar 31, 2026
Every Day Genius: The Podcast - Daily, short, bite-sized episodes with tidbits of wisdom (usually 5-8 minutes) from your host Michele Jennae and a series of inspired guests.
I take a lovely hour-long conversation and break it into lovely "coffee breaks" so that you can get to know my guest over the course of a few weeks.
Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday - Michele Jennae shares from her heart what's on her mind.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - Inspired guests share their Genius with you about their personal and professional journeys. The line between professional and personal often fades away.
Note: Beginning Mar 31, the format will undergo a change. Guest episodes will be Monday - Thursday. Michele Jennae will share Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, and occasionally the weekdays left open due to an interim between guests.
For that reason, guest Dortha Hise's final episode which aired on a Monday, Mar 30 will be available here. (Guest Lany Sullivan will begin to air on Monday April 6, 2026)
That leaves an interim of 6 days where I've decided to systematically reintroduce the concepts that comprise Every Day Genius. The post link below will house all of those episodes as they publish.

💞The Week in Review
Recap
Due to a format change, I am sharing 10 episodes here instead of the usual week of 7.
I begin with episodes 156 and 157 (Saturday and Sunday Mar 21-22) since they're a 2-part series called Life is a Process Not a Postcard, ideas that evolved out of one of my journaling sessions. On Wednesday, episode 160, I share the idea that Paradox is Genius, an interesting turn of phrase because Genius is also a paradox. I round out the 9 episodes with Saturday's episode 163 The "One Calling" Fallacy, debunking the myth that we're supposed to find our one true path; and Sunday's episode 164 titled Blessed Unrest. It's more fitting than you know on a customary day of rest.
Dortha's series of 12 episodes finish and here we showcase the last five. In episodes 158 and 159, we get into dichotomies (paradoxes), the power of silence, and the amazing mindshift of Both/And thinking. Thursday and Friday, (161 and 162) Dortha gives her perspective on AI and responsible use of technology and a technology or tool that she offers as a practical invitation to her work. Finally, on Monday Mar 30 (165) Dortha shares a few of her more notable influences.

Saturday: [156] Life is a Process Not a Postcard
Episode 156 Part 1
Part 1 of Life is a Process Not a Postcard: Looking at Polarities and how shifting our thinking from this vs that, both of which have their upsides and downsides, to this and that... a flow between two seemingly contradictory opposites which are actually complimentary.
Sunday: [157] Life is a Process Not a Postcard
Episode 157 Part 2
Part 2 of Life is a Process Not a Postcard: Looking at Polarities and how shifting our thinking from this vs that, both of which have their upsides and downsides, to this and that... a flow between two seemingly contradictory opposites which are actually complimentary.
Monday: [158] Blue Flame, Dichotomies, and Silence
Episode 158 with Dortha Hise
I ask Dortha about her purpose, what I call a Blue Flame, and ask if there were pivot points that led her to what she is doing in her work. She gives a lovely answer that highlights a dichotomy involving nature and technology.
(I explored the idea of polarities in episodes 156 and 157.)
Then there was a period of about 20 minutes of silence, which I edited out. But I left in our conversation about that silence because it highlights Dortha's genuine and grounded response, echoing her commitment to herself expressed throughout her episodes. It also highlights a need for silence and thoughtful response in conversations in general which isn't something most of us are accustomed to.
Tuesday: [159] Yes/And, Silence, and Space
Episode 159 with Dortha Hise
In today's episode, Dortha and I continue our conversation about the power of silence in a conversation, when it allows for people to be heard AND to have the time and space to hear themselves think. We also talk about the negating power of the word "but" and what we can do instead.
Wednesday: [160] The Genius of Paradox
Episode 160
Paradox, a word that carries its own paradox, its own confusion, as it has an interesting history and etymology. Today we dive into the word paradox, especially as moving forward, it will be the largest underlying work of Every Day Genius and understanding how to take the butterfly of transformation and set it aflight from its often-grounded position.
Thursday: [161] The Responsible Use of Technology
Episode 161 with Dortha Hise
Is AI good, bad, neutral? My guest Dortha Hise talks about AI as useful, but only insofar as we are using it with careful thought and consideration. Technology is a word that means skill and ability and humans have their inherent technology that, like AI, can be used for good or bad. Thoughts to ponder.
Friday: [162] A Welcome Mat
Episode 162 with Dortha Hise
Dortha offers a free tool on her LinkedIn Profile called The Delegation Map. I ask her about it, saying that for me it felt like a welcome mat. She talks about her philosophy behind the tool, its simple design, and its value to someone who needs to assess their business in a way they hadn't before. It just might be what allows them to see that working with Dortha makes sense.
Saturday: [163] The "One Calling" Fallacy
Episode 163
We've been told explicitly or implicitly that once we "find our calling," our ONE calling, we will set ourselves on a course of success and ease. It's not true. The truth isn't so simple, but it's one that is inherently more freeing and more exciting.
Sunday: [164] Blessed Unrest
Episode 164
We don't normally think of unrest as blessed. Unrest feels more like stress. But maybe that's because we have failed to recognize the power in it. There IS power in it!
Monday: [165] Inspirational Influences
Episode 165 with Dortha Hise
In the final episode in this series with Guest Dortha Hise, I ask her who she admires, who has influenced her. She responds with four people: authors, businesspeople, a holistic medicine practitioner. Tune in to find our more.
