Every Day Genius: The Podcast
The Format
Every Day Genius: The Podcast - Daily, short, bite-sized episodes with tidbits of wisdom (usually 5-8 minutes) from your host Michele Jennae and a series of inspired guests.
I take a lovely hour-long conversation and break it into lovely "coffee breaks" so that you can get to know my guest over the course of a few weeks.
Sunday, Wednesday, Saturday - Michele Jennae shares from her heart what's on her mind.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday - Inspired guests share their Genius with you about their personal and professional journeys. The line between professional and personal often fades away.
💞The Week in Review
Recap
Today, a new guest joins me. Dortha Hise, a longtime friend, joins Michele Jennae to talk about who she is and her approach to business and to life. Interestingly, I noticed that there is little differentiation between work and life, as has become so common. Dortha expresses an integration that many of us long for.
On Monday [151] Dortha talks about herself as wife, disruptor and nature lover and then continues talking about disruption and what that means on Tuesday [152]. On Thursday [154] she talks about how she deals with cell-phone disruptions, before taking time to breathe on Friday [155] and showing us how to do it too.
On Sunday, Michele Jennae, your host and yours truly, dives deeper into further definition of the terminology she uses in her work. What is Life Purpose, Passion, Blue Flame, and Genius? On Wednesday, deeper still into the word passion, a word that means "suffering." How do we come to terms (no pun intended) with the idea of passion being part of Life Purpose as one of the most used words in that regard.
She rounds out the week with Part 1 of a 2 Part series exploring the polarity between what she calls post card and process. Our social media posts are largely post cards, notes that highlight the best and sometimes the worst of our lives. But there is process too, and actually the process involves post card moments and all the rest.

Sunday: [150]Defining Genius, Blue Flame, Passion, and Life Purpose
Episode 150 with Michele Jennae
What is Genius anyway? It has been debated for centuries. I have my own definition that lies at the core of my work with EDGx365. Genius is idiosyncratic. It applies to every single person in peculiar and personal ways. Join me as I nail down my definition for Genius with a capital G, along with Blue Flame (a Divine Desire), Passion (not entirely what you think) and Life Purpose (also idiosyncratic).
Idiosyncratic means that it is particular and peculiar to any individual. As a concept it can be generalized but in meaning it is individualized.
Monday: [151] Disruptor, Business Owner, Wife, Nature Lover
Episode 151 with Dortha Hise
Meet my next guest, Dortha Hise. She'll be with me for 9 Genius-filled episodes and today she begins by telling us exactly who she is. Listen to her. She doesn't hedge. She runs her business the same way, and incidentally helps you run yours that way too, should you choose to work with her.
Tuesday: [152] Repatterning as a Quiet Disruptor
Episode 152 with Dortha Hise
My guest, Dortha Hise is a self-proclaimed disruptor. But in her words, a quiet disruptor, not one who brings chaos. What does she mean by that? Tune in. She's going to let you know.
Wednesday [153] The Necessary Suffering of Passion
Episode 153 with Michele Jennae
Follow your passion! Sage advice or nonsense? Consider the roots of the word passion before you answer. Life purpose might make a lot more sense after you listen in to this.
Prepare for a bit of a mindshift.
Thursday: [154] Disrupting our Disruptors
Episode 154 with Dortha Hise
Do you look at your cell phone first thing in the morning? Dortha talks about her morning habits and what she prioritizes overusing her phone. She adds that women often fail to prioritize themselves and as a result end up burnt out. It doesn't have to be that way.
Friday: [155] Regaining Time to Breathe
Episode 155
What would you do with an extra FOUR hours a week? It might not sound like a lot, but it might mean the difference between being burnt out and revitalized. It can give you time to breathe, maybe time to tackle some projects you've been putting off. My guest Dortha Hise talks about the importance of regaining time.
Saturday [156] Life is a Process Not a Postcard Part 1
Episode 156 with Michele Jennae
Part 1 of Life is a Process Not a Postcard: Looking at Polarities and how shifting our thinking from this vs that, both of which have their upsides and downsides, to this and that... a flow between two seemingly contradictory opposites which are actually complimentary.
