I'm a Work in Progress

You might think that because you're a work in progress - aren't we all? - that your Genius is absent.

You're still waiting for it to show up, to show you the way, to save you from your life. OK. Maybe that's not you. But it was me.

I knew I had Genius within me. I knew it from my core. But I thought it was hiding. I thought it was outside of me...in a qualification, an accomplishment, a destination. I thought I had to earn it, or that maybe I wasn't worthy of it at all.

At some point I had begun a life-long game of hide and seek. Always seeking. Hiding myself.

It was exhausting.

So, I decided to change the game to Follow the Leader. I have found the Genius within - one that looks very much like a Work in Progress - and I am more willing than ever to let her lead. And the game is much funner.

Are you still playing hide and seek? Not finding? Always seeking?

A few years ago, I built something I loved. And I'm bringing it back. It's ZenDally Doodle. Thinking with pen and paper. Meditation. The Art of Genius.

And you don't even need to have a so-called creative bone in your body, though I suspect you do.

Doodling was considered a waste of time, a waste of ink and paper. But, that’s exactly the point. ZenDally Doodle is a purposeful creative practice built on simple shapes, meditative repetition, and the radical idea that playing on paper is productive.
