{8} Can You Map Your Life
You Can Map The Flow of Your Genius
💭With a Dynamic Map like the EDG Butterfly Map
Hello Genius,
Maps become outdated very quickly. Topography changes slowly, but surface things like roads, boundary lines, buildings and such change rather quickly, especially as people are more transitory than ever and current technology allows for more speed of completion (even when the projects seem to take forever).
In last week's newsletter, we talked about work and the elusive, and rather impossible work-life balance. This week, I want to present to you a map that is dynamic and reflects how you live your life.
It's not likely you can map your life with planned stops and destinations and failsafe itineraries, and quite frankly, I hope you wouldn't want to. You can, however, map the flow of your Genius, how you move in the world.
You will begin to understand why you keep repeating certain patterns. You will learn about the hidden parts of you that perhaps you never knew existed, like a secret map revealed! The orientation alone will help you move in ways you always wanted but could never quite fully imagine.
What if you could find a map for flow?!
One that helped you map the expression of your Genius! It's HERE!
The Genius Map isn't topographical or geographical, it's psychographical! At the root it's about your identity, how you see yourself, but it's also about how to find flow in the paradox of what makes you YOU! You'll be able to see what keeps you stuck at the rest stop from hell and move toward greater destinations.
This week I want to share more about the EDG Butterfly Map that I've been hinting at over the last few weeks. It's quite simple once you understand the legend.
It's a tool for stuckness, creative blocks, boredom and burnout. It's not a hack, however. This isn't duct tape for the Genius Soul. It's more like a reliable multi-tool, useful across myriad situations, circumstances, contexts, and even phases of life.

I do hope you'll check it out. It is by far the most exciting thing I have created over the past 30 years, and interestingly and fittingly, it encompasses EVERYTHING I have created over that time.
If you haven't yet, you might check out the eBook Two Wings, for a deeper explanation of the EDG Butterfly Map philosophy and framework.
Or if you just feel like playing, take the Genius Imprint Assessment. It's revealing enough to give you an idea of tensions pulling at your Genius, without the deep dive into the behind-the-scenes stuff. Though you may find yourself wading deeper following that!
Both the eBook and the Assessment can be found here -> https://www.edgx365.com/start-here/
🥳PART 2!! Featured Genius - Jacqlyn Belcher Crosby and Lissa Belcher Murray
A Sister Duo - Retired Teachers Writing Novels
Jacqui Belcher Crosby sent me a message on Facebook one day. She had found one of my poems online and wanted permission to use it in the book she and her sister were writing, a saga that crossed generations and the ocean between Scotland and the East Coast of the United States.
The book is amazing, by the way! Linked in the last sentence of the paragraph above! CHECK IT OUT!! 🩵
There was an instant connection between us, two avid readers, writers, wordsmiths and lovers of life. Later Jacqui introduced me to Mysi (aka Lissa) and the warmth was equally palpable.
If you missed the first part, check it out here: https://www.edgx365.com/featured-genius-meet-jacqlyn-and-lissa-1/

In case you're curious, here's the poem:
(Thank you Jacqui and Mysi for featuring it!)
“On the great canvas of time
We all create our own masterpiece.
Choreographing our steps across minutes and hours
Dancing over the days
Painting pictures over months and
Writing our stories on the years.
Singing our songs that echo across eons.
We are all a thread in the talent tapestry.
A snapshot in the cosmic, collective collage.”

I am ready to take the show on the road!
I will be traveling to California mid to late May and hope to present a workshop or two while I'm there. I already have a line on one. Mostly I'll be celebrating my oldest daughter's graduation from university, spending time with her and her sister, my other daughter, and spending time with family and friends.
I am also looking for podcasts to appear on! Do you know of any aligned with Every Day Genius? I'd love to know more if you've got more information. I am prepared to do my homework and properly pitch and share once published. 🩵

P.S. Can I be real about something?
You're probably feeling it too. The whole internet thing, specifically the "social" media. It's a great tool, but every time we turn around, our opportunities to connect meaningfully are hijacked by algorithms. It is no longer what we signed up for in many respects.
I want to invite you into a community without the ads, without a feed full of 70% of things you never opted to "friend" or "follow." It's a dedicated space so the content is more meaningful and easier to navigate.
I'd love to have you!
